Michelle Obama has voiced her support for the burgeoning issue of US immigration reform in her visit to Mexico City. After a long time of silence, she finally had something to say about the immigration issue.
She thought perhaps that she had to address the Mexicans about this matter since a great number of people migrate from Mexico to US legally and illegally each year. Yearly, Mexicans have the highest entrance to the USA and their accumulated number make up 23% of the total foreigners in the country.
The first lady said, “We’re seeing young children who are trying to cross the border just to reconnect with their parents, and their lives are in danger. They’re put in precarious situations. And a strong immigration reform policy would help alleviate some of those challenges.”
President Obama is currently working on a complete reform of current US immigrant policy. This aims to provide illegal immigrants who are currently living in the US a route for citizenship. The huge number of illegal immigrants could be a great help for the recession. If they are given work visas, the government would benefit from the tax the registered workers would generate.
Haiti was the first visit of Mrs. Obama when her tour began. She visited the damage the earthquake has caused—killing a quarter of a million Haitians at the start of the year. Due to the earthquake illegal staying Haitians in the US were temporarily protected from deportation for a certain period.

I just read the best reaction to the immigration law ever on CNN. Awesome! “OK… so a cop’s title is “Law Enforcement Officer”… in order to be an “Illegal Immigrant” you have to be breaking the law of the United States of America… why would we not expect our “Law Enforcement Officers” to enforce the law of the United States of America? This is not a racist statement, this is not an anti-immigrant statement, I’m not a tea-partier, Im a slightly left of center gay American whose partner of 8 years is a Canadian. My partner goes through a massive ordeal in order to stay in this country legally, which he does… Im not able to sponsor him for permanent residence, and there is no legal pathway for him to gain permanent residence… so for now we live with renewing his temporary status based on his job and NAFTA, hoping for either an employer willing to sponsor him for permanent residence (a 5 year long, very expensive process) or the repeal/invalidation of DOMA, or the passage of the UAFA bill. He has to prove his legality in this country quite often, and is required to have his passport with proof of his legality on him at all times… I am more a victim of discrimination, as a US Citizen who cannot sponsor my permanent partner for US residence, than these illegal aliens who are breaking the law of the united states”
Of course Michelle Obama is in favor of illegal immigration and Amnesty – her husband’s Aunt is in the United States illegally, and has been given a free pass, even though she had been ordered deported twice – BEFORE her nephew moved into the White House. And of course there ARE those ongoing rumors of her Obama’s legitimacy.
But then Michelle is also working on an “obesity campaign.” When is the last time she looked at her ass-ets in a mirror? Does that mean that ‘obesity begins at home’?
I am for a immigration reform. There are hard wroking people here that are illegal and wether we want to beleieve it or not, not even or children will do the jobs they do. I don’t see any of us working the fields picking cotton, fruits, and vegtables to make a living. We as Americans want a 9-5 job ..off Sat and Sun. We are spoiled and we have done the same to our children. I am for getting the bad in ANy race out… but don’t mess up and break up families of hard working people by deporting them. And its not just Mexicans… (americans hear someone talk Spanish and to them that didn’t pay attention in History class think every Spanish Speaking or looking person is Mexican. Another…. its not just Latinos here illegally. There are Russians, Ukrainas, Canada, Pakistan, India, China, Vietnam, Korea, Nigeria, etc. My problem is that ALOT of these countries have violence in there country and have their paperwork in with immigration approved, but have to wait for an reform so their paperwork can come out and they can get their residency card. More so those that have been waiting 5 plus years and married an illegal due to love, some have children with them, some are still married and Obama’s aunt can get ahead of the line????? Come on!!!! Those of us that are American born and raised… and if we have been married many years waiting for our residency to our spouse that happen to be illegal but a hard working, never asked the government for anything, pay our taxes, and contribute to this country and we can’t have that low back where if you married an American you could stay in this country even if it is to pay a fine, but not have to leave to go to your country to get your residency, cuz if you do they p[unish you for 10 years. You married for love and are together still, and that can be investigated, and have done everything as an American does, but can’t get those approved papers here in this country!!! something is wrong with thais picture!!!
